Add a Guardian to Your Profile (Youth Under 18)

If you are under 18, you must have a guardian on your account in order to referee and receive communications, per regulations under "COPPA" and "MAAPP".

All youth (under 18) are required to add a guardian when registering. However, if you registered prior to this compliance feature in SportLynx, you may need to add the guardian manually in your "My Referee Information" area of "My Referee Center".

Follow the instructions below to see how to add a guardian to your account.

Step 1: Login to your SportLynx account. From the dashboard, click on the My Referee Center icon as shown in the figure below.

NOTE: You will only have the My Referee Center menu item if you have registered in SportLynx as a referee.

Step 2: In My Referee Center you will see all your license and bio information. If you need a guardian added to your account, you will see the guardian box with instructions and a blue "Add Guardian" button, shown below.

 Step 3: Click the "Add Guardian" button . You will see text fields to enter information for your guardian.

Step 4: Enter the information into the fields and click the "Save Guardian" button when you have finished entering the information into the fields. You will need to enter a temporary password for them that we use when creating their account.

Step 5: You should see a transient toast message that says "Guardian Created Successfully For Referee", as well as the guardian information saved below.
